Hello Life.

What is Shella?

Your smartphone constantly emits and receives wireless signals—even in flight mode. Shella® is an ultra-slim, space- and military-grade smartphone pouch designed to protect your data, body, and peace of mind. A convenient way to just go offline and focus on what really matters. Therefore we like to call Shella a “pocket of time”, that travels with you wherever you go.

In simple words: When your phones are tucked inside a Shella® bag, it becomes entirely invisible to networks, hackers and to you.

Why is Shella useful?

Shella bags are carefully crafted to protect your mind, health and privacy.

Did you know that even in flight-mode your smartphone is constantly emitting and receiving data? Imagine your Shella bag as a powerful shield that blocks 100% of signals, giving you an instant break from digital distractions. Maybe you might even forget that you do have a phone for a little while. So why not start with getting one today?

Productivity

Smartphones are increasingly overpowering our mental capabilities. A single digital distraction is hijacking our attention for 23 minutes. We have gone from “sometimes” checking E-Mails to checking our phones almost 200 times a day, resulting on average in 5+ hours of screen time. Shella provides an effective means to instantly stop that flood of distractions constantly disrupting our train of thought.

Peace of Mind

Hello Life? Get real. On average our eyes are glued to the smartphone screen up to 5 hours per day. When was the last time you looked into the eyes of your loved ones?

Shield your body from possibly carcinogenic radiation and treat your mind to a moment of stillness at the same time. Benefit from the joy of being happily disconnected. Or as a popular 80s German New Wave song proclaims, just enjoy the feeling of being "Völlig losgelöst.“

Private Space

Smartphones present profound privacy concerns due to the constant collection and monetization of personal data, including location tracking, browsing habits, and app permissions. Invisible threats such as data harvesting, invasive surveillance capabilities and passive listening are amongst the main risks to your privacy. It is increasingly complex to manually turn off all signals on current devices, as they can still be approximated via Wi-Fi, cell towers or run in the background. For ultimate offline security when out and about, your smartphone needs to be isolated from all networks by securely enclosing it into a portable yet robust Faraday cage, such as perfectly integrated in each Shella bag.

Loving our Planet

Globally, smartphones generate and consume over 150 Exabytes (EB) of data per month. The vast majority of this production comes from video streaming and media consumption. Even if you are not on your phone, your phone is always on, constantly emitting and receiving data. This hidden power needed for mobile data and cloud services makes your smartphone one of the most environmentally demanding consumer products on Earth. Managing data usage is therefore essential if you care for the planet. Shella helps you to completely disconnect from mobile data when not needed and prevents unintentional streaming, thus tremendously reducing your phone’s negative environmental impact.
